A small handful of students are chosen each year to participate in the Theatrical Costume Design program at FIDM. The final project of the course is to design and build costumes to a yearly theme.
The theme for the 2009 class was "FIDM Dances with the Stars." Each student was to design a pair of dancers for two genres of dance reflecting different time periods of dance in the United States. I got the Polka (1860s Crinoline era) and Rock and Roll (1950s).
